Since the opening of our equine surgical building in 2004, Glenwood Veterinary Clinic has offered a full range of equine surgical services, including colic surgery, long bone fracture repair, arthroscopy, upper respiratory surgery, cryptorchid castration, correction of angular limb deformities in foals, and complex wound repair. Three well-trained anesthetists use positive pressure ventilation, modern anesthetic gasses, and direct monitoring of blood pressure and cardiovascular function to assure a safe anesthetic experience for our equine patients. Induction to anesthesia and recovery take place in a well-padded room for maximum safety to the patient, and recovery is assisted by one or more staff as indicated. Glenwood Veterinary Clinic is proud to have the only board certified equine surgeon between the front range of Colorado and Idaho, and receives referrals from the Western Slope, Utah, and Wyoming. Additionally, we are delighted to now be able to offer 24/7 emergency equine surgical services and equine emergency consultation capabilities with the addition of Dr. Eric Everett to the practice. |
