Veterinary Technicians

Rose Caufield

Rose is our small animal technician. She graduated from Colorado Mountain College in May of 2001 and began working at GVC in September of that year.

Rose became a certified veterinary technician in January of 2002, and has worked with Dr. Mease as a small animal technician for the past 8 years.

She resides in Meeker, Colorado with husband, Jason, their son Levi and their new daughter, Avarie, who was born in October. They share their home with many furry four legged family members.

Dawn Neely
Dawn received her B.S. in Animal Science from Oregon State University and did post baccalaureate studies in Veterinary Science (Equine Reproductive Physiology and Immunology) at the University of Kentucky.

Dawn worked previously as an equine breeding manager, ranch manager, small animal vet tech and equine neonatal ICU tech before joining us at GVC in March of 2008. Dawn is a large animal technician for Dr. Luedke and also is part of the equine anesthesia and ICU team. She lives in Silt with her husband Chuck and their large collection of pets and horses.

Britton Nieslanik
Britton has been at GVC since 2005 as a large animal technician. She was born and raised in Glenwood Springs and attended North Eastern Junior College for her Associate of Applied Science degree in Equine Science. Britton is an equine technician for Dr. Bohanon. She is head of the  equine anesthesia team and also part of the equine ICU team. She is GVC’s only Coggin’s technician for our in-house Coggin’s lab.

 Britton grew up showing and riding reining horses and showing and training her own dogs. She lives in Glenwood Springs on the Nieslanik Cattle Ranch with her husband, Jeff, and children , 8 year old Amber and 5 year old Aiden.

Lisa Dahmer
Lisa has been a technician at GVC since 2000. She has worked with small, exotic and large animals, but mainly works now with large animals. Lisa worked with Dr. Coffman for 8 years and now works with Dr. Bolger. Lisa went to school at Murray State University in Kentucky where she obtained a bachelors degree in animal science.

She lives in Silt with her new husband Steve, dog Black Jack, and horse Frosty. She enjoys spending time outdoors,  running, hiking and hunting.

Tanya Knupp

Tanya grew up in Rifle, CO and went to college at Western International University where she received her Associate of Arts in Business degree. She worked in mortgage for 8 years before deciding to pursue her career working with animals. She recently graduated from Colorado Mountain College with an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and became a certified technician this year. Tanya is now working on her continuing education courses in equine medical nursing. Tanya began working at GVC as a tech student and became a full-time large animal technician in May 2009. She works with the GVC intern and is a member of the equine anesthesia and ICU team.

Currently Tanya resides in Rifle with her fiance Jeff, her two dogs Gus and Harley and cat Peaches. Tanya enjoys the outdoors, camping, 4 wheeling, riding and scrapbooking.

Claire Wilson

Claire grew up in Glenwood Springs.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science from Colorado State University.

Claire is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been with GVC since November of 2006. Prior to coming to GVC she worked at Colorado State University Veterinary Hospital for 5 years. Claire has filled many positions at GVC, including large animal technician, small animal technician and is currently running the front office. She lives in Glenwood Springs with her fiance, Randy Hill and her Golden Retrievers, Gracie and Rosie. Randy is a firefighter and paramedic in Glenwood Springs.
